Make your own single colour Screen Printer in a few simple steps!
1. Affix the Screen Clamps to a wooden board (MDF Board available as an optional extra - 9mm thick, roughly A3))
2. Prepare your silk screen, using an exposure process or cutting and applying vinyl to the screen material. Cutters such as the Silhouette Cameo 4 or Brother Scan N Cut are great for cutting our stencils for screen printing
3. Coat the Screen with the ink and then use a squeegee to push the ink through and print your item!
Notes
Water-based inks
If using water-based inks (also known as air drying ink), hang or lay garment to 'air dry' and then heat press for a few seconds to
cure the ink. If you do not have a heat press, you may use a domestic iron to iron over the design, covering the image with a teflon sheet.
Air drying inks are easier to work with and it is also easier to clean the screen, squeegee etc.
Plastisol Inks
These are oil-based inks which require curing under an infra-red heater or a Spot Dryer. Once cured, the prints are very durable but a greater amount of time is required to clean the screen, squeegee etc. using solvents.
