TERMS & CONDITIONS

Before you make a purchase, please observe our T&C’s as they are for the benefit of both parties. Your order will be processed on the basis that you have fully accepted our T&C’s, unless otherwise stated by us in writing. Reference to the ZX-40 also refers to all of the available ZX-40 models.

At CPL, we believe in being totally transparent with our customers and it is this transparency that has kept us at the forefront for the last 38 years.

1) Print Quality & Compatibility

Although the print quality achieved when using our system is of high quality, some allowances to print quality should be made when printing ribbons of different colours, textures and finishes.

The print quality will depend on the quality of the ribbon you choose. The smoother the ribbon, the better the print quality. We find that printing on to satin ribbons produces the best quality. We cannot guarantee quality of print on other types of ribbons.

Also, the opacity of the print (foil) will vary depending on the background of the ribbon. With time, you will soon discover which ribbons work best with which foils. For example, white print on a black ribbon may not appear as solid white and black print on a white may appear dark grey. This is because the print colour (foil) deposits a thin layer of colour and therefore this should not be compared to something like screen printing where a heavier amount of ink is deposited, resulting in more dense print quality.

Please avoid very small print and images with very fine lines. Your clipart must be in distinct black and white with no greys or shades. Remember, if you take clipart from the internet for example, there will be a loss of quality when you save it and that could have a detrimental effect on your print quality.

The print quality may also differ depending on the weave of the ribbon  - e.g. a diagonal weave may produce print quality that may not look as crisp as a ribbon with a horizontal weave.

You are advised to test print quality and durability on sample ribbons before ordering in larger quantity from your suppliers or carrying out printing jobs for your clients.

Whilst the ZX-40 machines are able to print sashes, please avoid large bold text and designs as the print head can come under strain and you may get less than a perfect print. We would suggest that if you are printing large text, it is best to use text outline function rather than solid large text. You can make outlines bolder within your software. This also applies when printing onto vinyl labels/bumper stickers. Vinyl can attract dust (static) which can impede printing sometimes by leaving very small dots/speckles in the design. These cannot often be seen from a distance, only from close up. Most of our customers understand this and build this into their costing.

If you are purchasing foils from us to use on another ribbon printer (not purchased from CPL), then whilst we are happy for you to shop with us, we cannot guarantee the print quality on any other similar printer. Our 55mm wide foils have been specially designed to be used with our central fed ribbon printer and they are thus not suitable for use with other older left hand fed machines sold by others.

Please note: The ZX-40 Ultra and previous models that we have sold are for use with a Windows PC and we do not have a MAC driver for the printer to run from. But please note the ZX-40 printer works on any PC or laptop from Windows 10 onwards. So Normally an older laptop can be picked up quite cheaply for instant results if you do not already have a spare PC.

Please note: The ZX-40 Plus model is the only machine to have a Windows and Mac driver. The printer works on any PC or laptop Windows 10 64 bit and onwards, or OS 11 and onwards.

2) Tests on your own Ribbons

We can test/print free (on your own satin ribbons) for up to 2 ribbons, after which we do make a charge of 50p+VAT per ribbon. This amount will be refunded in full if you do decide to purchase our ribbon printer. For overseas, customer is responsible for postage charges, both ways. For domestic customers, please send a self-addressed envelope with 2 x First Class Stamps along with reasonable length of your samples.

3) What we are offering here

What we are offering you here is not just simply a printer but a total concept/package which is focused on your being able to print and supply ribbons to a mass market.  The Package thus includes the concept, printer, support and guidance, access to foils, ribbons, vinyl, software and other materials. The support encompasses support either in person, via e-mail and remote access. Our pricing is thus based on the above and not just a printer.

4) Returns Policy

We follow all current legislation and are happy to take back your purchase if returned to us within seven working days from the date of receipt of goods for ‘change of mind’.

In order for us to accept the above and offer a full refund, the goods must be unused, and any accompanying CD's or DVD's must remain unopened and any foils, ribbons etc unused. If these are opened or used, then it will be assumed that the customer has used the goods as they form an integral part of your product/package.

It is the customer's duty to ensure that goods are returned to us undamaged and packed such that any potential damage can be avoided. Customers must also inform us in writing or by e-mail of their intentions to return goods within the stipulated period quoting our RMA Number. We cannot accept notice by telephone.

It is a condition of this contract that a purchaser of our products will bear the shipping costs of returning the goods to us within the above stipulated period.

5) Delays in shipping goods

No liability will be accepted by Creative Printers for lost orders as a result of delays in supplying foils, out of stock situations, shipping and postal delays etc.

For overseas customers, if you request goods to be shipped to you via standard Air Mail (Royal Mail), then please be advised that should goods go missing, astray or arrive damaged, then it can take 30 to 90 days to claim compensation from the Royal Mail. We always obtain proof of postage and our liability will end there - however, we will always try to assist you as much as we can to claim compensation for your goods. We regret we cannot send out replacement goods 'free of charge' whilst claim is under investigation - they must be paid for and once we receive any compensation from the Royal Mail, your account will duly be credited. This applies to when goods are sent by any means of shipment, including by couriers, below).

The best shipping method is for you to order your goods via one of the larger couriers such as 'FedEx' etc. If you have your own account with them you can ask them to collect from us and settle payment with them directly or alternatively, we can arrange this for you at extra cost. Goods sent by this method can easily be tracked online and offer a more secure method of shipping.

6) Import Duties

Overseas customers maybe liable to pay any additional charges as imposed by their local  Customs & Excise Department - this is the customer's responsibility and not ours. Our shipping charges only cover sending goods to the airport or door to door (Whichever has been agreed for and paid for in advance)  and do not cover any additional charges such as Import Duties, VAT etc.). Couriers may require that any such duties are paid before goods are released for delivery. We can supply a 'Commodity Code'  on request if you wish to contact your local Customs Office for an accurate figure for import duties.

7) Warranty

Warranty will be considered void if any other material or foils are fed through the ZX-40 machine which have not been previously approved by Creative Printers of London. Warranty will also be void if the mechanisms of the machine are interfered in anyway, by anyone other than Creative Printers, unless we have previously agreed in writing or via e-mail.

Warranty will also become void if wrong foils are used on the wrong materials (eg. Bumper sticker foil on ribbons and vice versa). Warranty is for 12 months on all mechanical parts of the ZX-40 Plus and 6 months on the print head.

If the ZX-40 is returned to us under the warranty and we subsequently find that there is no fault with the printer, then our labour time will become chargeable at a cost of £30.00+VAT (minimum) plus £5.00+VAT for every 15 minutes thereafter. More often than not, we can diagnose the problem and resolve it within 30 minutes. Customer will also be required to pay the return postage.

Warranty does not cover negligence, accidental damage or inappropriate use of the ZX-40.

Under the terms of this warranty, overseas customers must pay shipping costs both ways plus any local charges that may occur.
